In recent years, I’ve wandered and gathered objects that people have grown weary of. I believe that leftovers have a load, a soul, and an energy, and despite having drifted from their home, and their original use, they are ripe for another attempt at playing and learning. I infuse them with a new lifeness and integrate my biographic impressions in them. The current space is called “The Journey to Light” - an voyage that starts in the dark and steadily reveals itself. From outside and in, a sukkah is revealed; a symbol for the impermanence of the home. In our generation, the temporarines of habitation is a meaningful experience, and at times a jarring one which carries with it uncertainty, fears, freedom, and journeying. In the past, the building of the sukkah was improvbised from available materials, and today is an industrialized standard off-the-shelf item. The ornaments of my sukkah are illumination units which focus an observation on a daily task - turning a light on - and turn it into a ritualistic experience. The space enables a reexamination of the belief and the objects in day-to-day life, and brings light to the importance of the tools and abilities at our disposal.
